Balance My Energy

Materials Needed

  • Indoor: A board on the wall with a line describing level of energy (high / medium / low), sticky notes or magnets with players' names.
  • Outdoor: 3 cones on a line describing level of energy (high / medium / low), players' own water bottle.

Instructions

  1. Before the warming-up, each player has a magnet or sticky note with their name on it, or their own water bottle.
  2. Ask the players: "How much energy do you have at this moment?"
  3. Let them put their marker at a spot on the line.
  4. Ask a few of the players to verbalize what they can do to have the same amount of energy or more energy in the next training session.
  5. Then the warming-up can start.

Variation

Add a second question: "How pleasant is your energy?" (unpleasant / neutral / pleasant). The follow-up: "What can you do to have a more pleasant energy in the next training session?" Unpleasant may be frustrated or sad; pleasant may be happy.
