Where Do I Stand?

Materials Needed

  • Indoor: A board on the wall with a line marking levels of expertise (low / medium / high), plus sticky notes or magnets with each player's name.
  • Outdoor: 3 cones on a line representing low, medium, and high. Each player uses their own water bottle as a marker.

Instructions

  1. Explain the drill to the players.
  2. Each player takes a magnet or sticky note with their name (indoor), or their own water bottle (outdoor).
  3. Ask the players: "What is your current level regarding this skill?"
    • Low: I can do this skill a little already.
    • Medium: I can do this skill quite a bit.
    • High: I only have to refine this skill.
  4. Let the players place their marker at the spot on the line that matches their level.
  5. Ask a few players to explain their choice. For example: "Which part of this skill do you already master?" or "Which part can you still learn or refine?"
  6. Then the drill can start.

Tip

After the players have done the drill a few times, you can ask them to move their marker if they feel they did better or worse than they originally thought.
