Energy Check-in

Materials Needed

  • Indoor: A board on the wall with a line describing level of energy (high / medium / low), sticky notes or magnets with players' names.
  • Outdoor: 3 cones on a line describing level of energy (low / medium / high), players' own water bottle.

Instructions

  1. Before the warming-up, give each player a magnet or sticky note with their name on it, or their own water bottle.
  2. At the start, ask the players: "How much energy do you have at this moment?"
  3. The players put their marker at a spot on the line.
  4. Ask a few of the players to explain their choice.
  5. Then the warming-up can start.

Variation

Optionally add a second question: "How pleasant is your energy?" Ask the players to place their marker on a line from unpleasant to neutral to pleasant. Unpleasant may be frustrated or sad; pleasant may be happy.
