Materials Needed
- A swing cloth (parachute) on the ground, next to the field.
- Put 4 small papers on 4 colors of the cloth. For example:
- Yellow: technical execution
- Violet: better focus
- Blue: speed
- Red: communication
- A reflection buddy for each athlete (a small cone with the name or number of the athlete on it, or any toy or game figure).
Instructions
- Explain the drill, the goal, and the point of focus. Start the drill.
- After the drill, ask the players to make pairs and sum up their answer to this sentence: "I reached the goal of the drill because I..." Let them focus on a positive statement.
- After one minute, ask them to reduce the sentence into ONE KEYWORD.
- Ask the players to think what they could do even better next time:
- Yellow: technical execution
- Violet: better focus
- Blue: speed
- Red: communication
- Ask them to place their reflection buddy on the color of choice on the swing cloth.
Tip
You can ask your players to always carry a small "buddy" with them (e.g. clip a carabiner to their bags) so they always have it ready.
